Driver Development
Learning the skills to make you a better driver!
Driver Risk Assessments
Company car driver risk assessment is an integral part of your business health and safety policy. Any driver, whether Fleet or Grey Fleet must undergo a driving risk assessment to stay compliant with ISO45001.
Here at Navigator Driver Training, we understand that this can be complicated to navigate with In-House Training. Let us take the burden away from you.
We offer in-car driving sessions starting from two hours and supply you with a written report on any session given along with a driver certificate to show compliance.
We also offer in-house classes, these classes can accommodate between 5 and 10 company car drivers at any given time and last around 4-5 hours. These sessions can be carried out at your business or our offices in Cardiff Bay.

How driving development can improve you...

Advanced driving is a safe and methodical way of driving. Advanced driving ensures you are mindful of others, more observant and better at anticipating changes within your surrounding conditions.
Advanced driver training is based upon the “System of car control” as detailed in Roadcraft, The Police driver’s handbook. By following this system you ensure that you become a better driver and you will; reduce the risk of having a crash, improve your fuel consumption and have less wear and tear to your vehicle.
Advanced driver training
“Advanced driving is the ability to control the position and speed of the vehicle safely, systematically and smoothly, using road and traffic conditions to progress unobtrusively with skill and responsibility. This skill requires a positive but courteous attitude and a high standard of driving competence based on concentration, effective all round observation, anticipation and planning. This must be coordinated with good handling skills. The vehicle will always be at the right speed with the correct gear engaged and can always be stopped safely on its own side of the road in the distance that can be seen to be clear”

How we deliver the training...
After making the initial enquiry for your driver training on our contact page, we will contact you to discuss the driver's needs. During this discussion, we ascertain what your requirements are and the urgency of the training. After we have a full picture of your requirements, and you agree to the training, we will send you a confirmation email with any payment terms and links.
On the day of training...
Your driver trainer will arrive at the agreed time at the address you have specified to commence the driver training. Your trainer will conduct a vehicle check on your vehicle (unless the training vehicle is provided), a driving licence check and an eyesight check. After your trainer is satisfied that the training session can go ahead, your training begins.
Your trainer will confirm the details on the booking confirmation and agree any changes you may have to enhance the session as two-way communication is the key.
Driver training completion...
After your training session is complete, your trainer will discuss what they have identified in your driving ability and what they needed to do to make you a safer driver, this is done via a driver checklist report. The report will show your ability after the training session and not before. This report will be sent to the business or individual that booked the initial assessment, along with a certificate showing your gold, silver or bronze assessment result.
